In 2018 we are offering a series of one-day retreats held in the metropolitan area to allow busy people the opportunity to deepen their practice within the existing activities of your week. Each one-day retreat will bring together guided mindfulness meditations, mindful yoga, walking meditation and a focus on a specific heart practice. They are largely silent retreats with an interactive opening and closing session. Heart practices are meditation practices that cultivate beneficial mind states (also known as positive emotions). They support the development of our own wellbeing as well as contribute to the wellbeing of those we come in contact with. There is a growing interest from the research community into the effects of these practices. Kathryn is a certified mindfulness instructor through the Medical School of the University of Massachusetts and is recognised as a senior meditation teacher through the Meditation Association of Australia.
